Students attending Princess Margret Secondary School have been found wreaking havoc and mayhem at stores and businesses all around town. Everything was 20% off. Video footage shows packs of the students roaming the stores for hours on end. One student had a crazed, determined look upon them when apprehended at the local Wal-Mart. The officer noted that there was no stolen items, fraudulent identification or weapons found on the student; only a notebook and calculator. The authorities are still trying to piece together the jumble of trigonimics, algebra and calculus spewn throughout the book. When they asked what the student was doing with book they broke down in tears. "I was only trying to figure out how much 67.73$ was with 20% off and then add taxes" slurred the student. The officers were astounded when they came to realize that this student was indeed in math 12 pricniples, the highest in secondary school, and failed to solve such a simple problem. Profecessors had to be called in to make sense of the higher level math included in the book, for it had no use in everyday life. "The math being tought to these students has no use in thier everyday life", police concluded.

Snow ((Hey oh))

Snow (Hey oh)- Red Hot Chili Peppers

Come to decide that the things that I tried
Were in my life just to get high on
When I sit alone come get a little known
But I need more than myself this time

Step from the road to the sea to the sky
And I do believe it, we rely on
When I lay it on come get to play it on
All my life to sacrifice

Refrain:
Hey oh, listen what I say, oh
I got your hey oh, now listen what I say, oh

When will I know that I really can't go
To the well once more time to decide on
When it's killing me, when will I really see
All that I need to look inside

Come to believe that I better not leave
Before I get my chance to ride
When it's killing me, what do I really need
All that I need to look inside

Refrain:
Hey oh, listen what I say, oh
Come back and hey oh, look at what I say, oh

Stick:
The more I see, the less I know
The more I like to let it go
Hey oh, whoa

Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder
Where it's so white as snow
Privately divided by a world so undecided
And there's nowhere to go

In between the cover of another perfect wonder
And it's so white as snow
Running to the field where all my tracks will be concealed
And there's nowhere to go

When to descend to amend for a friend
All the channels that have broken down
Now you bring it up, I'm gonna ring it up
Just to hear you sing it out

Step from the road to the sea to the sky
And I do believe what we rely on
When I lay it on, come get to play it on
All my life to sacrifice

Refrain:
Hey oh, listen what I say, oh
I got your hey oh, listen what I say, oh

Stick:
The more I see, the less I know
The more I like to let it go
Hey oh, whoa

Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder
Where it's so white as snow
Privately divided by a world so undecided
And there's nowhere to go

In between the cover of another perfect wonder
Where it's so white as snow
Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed
And there's nowhere to go

I said hey, hey yeah, oh yeah, tell my Love now
Hey, hey yeah, oh yeah, tell my Love now
Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder
Where it's so white as snow

Privately divided by a world so undecided
And there's nowhere to go
Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder
Where it's so white as snow

Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed
And there's nowhere to go
I said hey, oh yeah, oh yeah, tell my love now
Hey, hey yeah, oh yeah

Cocaine- (Street Names: Coke, Snow, Crack, Rock). Snow in this song refers to cocaine, a white powdery substance. Lead singer Anthony Kiedis' drug of choice. In this song he tells people "Hey oh, listen what I say, oh", so he can tell about being addicted to drugs. Only when the drugs are killing him does he look back to the decisions he's made "...When it's killing me, when will I really see...". The song has an abundance of internal rhyme as well. "Now you bring it up, I'm gonna ring it up", "Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder" and "Now you bring it up, I'm gonna ring it up". Along with the internal rhyme there is assonance "When to descend to amend for a friend".

In Memory

I silently scuttled to my pew and sat next to my parents. The funeral was about to begin. A man who looked almost older than my late grandfather appeared at the podium.
"To those of you who don't know me, I'm am the younger brother to the late Robert McWilliams", Grumbled the ancient man, "My brother lived a long tiresome life. He put in an unprecedented amount of hours into the workforce and double that into his family"
He wore a solom expression upon a face that like a dirty old rag that had been discarded to lay folded in a heap.
"For the greater portion of his life, he was the favourite in our family, he was choclate and I was black liquorice"
A small laugh went through the crowd.
Reluctlantly, the man continued as two pictures of my grandfather appeared behind him, "The years were rough on my brother, he was once young and had had the energy of a child on christmas morning, later in his life, he was stricken with arthritis, as you all know"
A brief flash came back to me. A picture of my grandfather lying in his bed weeks before passing away. He was a dormant volcano waiting to explode in an eruption of pain in only a matter of days. The thought made me miss him more than ever. I let the old man continue....

I am Stuart Johnston, The Great. Yes.  I am the definition of greatness. I am the role model to young children and misguided teens. I am on the path to destiny. My life has seemed to be: written, edited, proofread, and rewritten by the lord himself. If you have ever seen me, which you haven't, you would have been honoured to be in my presence.

You could fill an entire stadium, yet only one essay, with all the achievements I've collected in my lifetime . In a single day I have been: on, under, around, and in Mt. Everest. I have taken a bullet for the president. Darkness scares me. I thrive on any kind of speed, minus the drug. I only catch a cold to throw it back. I can ski.

The Man of Mice

In the book Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck depicts the character George as a quick-witted, crusty guy with a one of a kind friendship with Lennie. Gary Sinise turned this book into a movie. I felt his portrayal of George was off. At the beginning of the movie, George and Lennie are walking down the road to the ranch, George stood only slightly smaller then Lennie did. My impression from the book was that George was significantly smaller then Lennie. Also, in the movie, I thought George was too clean and his friendship with Lennie was not developed enough. I pictured George as being a rough little guy with some signs of hard times in the past upon him, but instead we get a clean shaven man that looks like he has no place on a farm. Lastly, I thought that the relationship that George and Lennie wasn't right. It seemed that George showed little optimism when reciting their "dream"  by the riverside for the first time. Also, when George talked of their past, he sowed more frustration than forgiveness. When the time came that they were sitting at the riverside for the final time, George just pulled the trigger on Lennie with no hesitation. I believe it was the book's dramatic build up to that shot, that reinforced their friendship throughout the entire story. Besides, what is Gary Sinise doing shooting people like that, I thought he only dealt with people that had already been shot.   (CSI NY)

Only an accident.

Dorthy clenched her teeth and gave her husband a deathly stare. Tom could do nothing in return except to wait for all hell to break loose. All it took was a slight quiver in his neck and the bomb exploded.
"I cannot believe you Thomas William Hebert, I have never been more embarrassed in my entire life!"
Tom swung his head slowly it the other direction, "I told you it was an accident" he murmured.
"Yes I know that", Dorthy quickly retorted, not giving him a chance to say anything else. "I do not believe how immature and disrespectful you are; this is not the man I married two years ago."
"Can you not see that I feel bad enough already!?" The blood was slowly rising to Tom's head as he grew more angry by the second. Dorthy knew she was pushing the limits but chose to continue.
"You could be in jail, or worse you could be dead!" raising her voice almost to the point of screaming. And with that, Tom sprang up out of the bed and took a powerful stance, showing all his rage directed straight at Dorthy.
"I am so sick of being treated like this! I am a grown man for god's sake."
"I don't want to start this again", Dorthy realized what she was getting into and took a defencive position on the other side of the bed, "You know that all I am only looking out for you."
"You said that last time" spat out Tom.
"Any yet you don't seem to lean!" She knew she was in too deep but showed no sign of letting up. "You are a fool."
"How dare you speak to me like that"
"You never learn," Dorthy muttered under her breath, "I am sick of you."
"THAT IS IT!" roared tom "I am sick of everything Dorthy, I am sick of you and I am sick of us! We are through!"
With that, Tom stormed out of the room. The last Dorthy ever heard of him was the sound of his car screeching out of the driveway as he sped away.

To the bitter end.

It was the calm before the storm. Outside the bunkhouse, George stood like a statue, there, blocking the path of Curley. Who was a ticking time bomb, ready to explode at anything in his path. The sweat trickled down from George's brow, for Curly held in his hand the shotgun of Crooks, the stable buck. "All's I'm askin' is for you to reconsider" murmured George again, without even a flinch. Curley shifted on his feet, it looked like he was about to say something but he remained silent. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Curley ambitiously took a step towards his target. He had his sights set on George.Even recognizing the danger, George held his place. "You are a fool to think you can stop me" proclaimed Curley.
